एक गांव में सत्संग चल रहा था। गुरुजी प्रवचन का वाचन कर रहे थे। उन्होंने कहा, ‘यदि ईश्वर पर आस्था है तो वह रक्षा करते हैं।’ एक व्यक्ति एकाग्रचित्त मन से यह बात सुन रहा था। अगले दिन व्यक्ति एक जंगल से जा रहा था। तभी एक आदमी दौड़ता हुआ आया।

वह बोला, ‘भागो सामने से एक हाथी आ रहा है। वह पागल है और वो तुम्हें मार डालेगा।’ उस व्यक्ति ने मन में गुरुजी के वचन याद आए कि, ‘यदि ईश्वर पर आस्था है तो वह रक्षा करते हैं।’ वह निडर होकर चलने लगा।

थोड़ी समय बाद वह पागल हाथी चिंघाड़ता हुआ आया और उसने उस व्यक्ति को अपनी सूंड से गिराया और आगे की ओर चल दिया। वह व्यक्ति बहुत खुश हुआ और उन गुरुजी के पास गया। वह उनसे बिना रुके प्रसन्नता से बोला, गुरुजी आपने सच कहा था ‘यदि ईश्वर पर आस्था है तो वह रक्षा करते हैं।’ ये बात सच है। और इस तरह उसने आप-बीती सुनाई।
