उनके इस काम को देखकर वहां रहने वाले सभी लोगों ने उनका मजाक उड़ाया। बजुर्गु कहता, ‘मेरे मरने के बाद मेरे बेटे पहाड़ा काटने का सिलसिला जारी रखेंगे। हालांकि ये पहाड़ बहुत ऊंचे हैं लेकिन हमारे इरादों और हौसलों से अधिक ऊंचे नहीं हो सकते। हम जितना इन्हें खोदते जाएंगे। ये उतने ही छोटे होते जाएंगे।’

वहां मौजूद सभी लोग यह सुनकर हैरान हो गए। जिस वृद्ध को वो लोग महामूर्ख समझ रहे थे। वो उन्हें सफलता का मंत्र बता रहा था।
