जानिए ऐसी होती है बिना मुहूर्त की महिमा

किसी देश में वसु सेन नाम का एक राजा राज करता था। वह पुरुषार्थी चक्रवर्ती सम्राट था। लेकिन कोई भी काम बिना ज्योतिषी से मुहूर्त जाने बिना नहीं करता था। इस कारण से प्रजा और सभासद- सभी को बड़ी चिंता होने लगी।

एक दिन राजा वसु सेन अपने देश के दौरे पर निकले। उनके साथ राज ज्योतिषी भी था। तभी उन्हें रास्ते में एक किसान मिला जो हल-बैल लेकर खेत जोतने जा रहा था। राज ज्योतिषी ने उसे रोककर कहा, ‘मूर्ख! जानता नहीं, आज इस दिशा में जाना ठीक नहीं है, और तुम उसी दिशा की ओर जा रहे हो। यदि तुम इसी दिशा में फिर से गए तो तुम्हें हानि उठानी पढ़ सकती है।’

तब किसान ने शांत स्वर में राज ज्योतिषी से कहा, ‘जी में पिछले कई साल से इसी दिशा में जा रहा हूं। ऐसे में कई ऐसे दिन भी आए होंगे जब यह दिशा ज्योतिष की लिहाज से ठीक नहीं होगी। लेकिन मुझे आज तक कुछ भी नहीं हुआ।’

किसान ने जब राज ज्योतिषी की बात को सिरे से नकार दिया तो ज्योतिषी ने कहा, ‘अच्छा तो तुम अपना हाथ बताओ। तुम्हारी हस्तरेखा जांच करता हूं।’ किसान ने उसकी और हाथ किया। तब राज ज्योतिषी ने गुस्से से कहा, ‘मूर्ख हाथ दिखाते समय सीधा हाथ दिखाते हैं। उल्टा नहीं।’

तब किसान ने कहा, ‘मैं किसी से भीख नहीं मांग रहा। मैं अपने हाथों से मेहनत करता हूं। यह सुनकर राज ज्योतिषी के पास कोई उत्तर नहीं था। नजदीक ही राजा वसु सेन खड़े थे उन्हें इस घटना से कर्म की महिमा का ज्ञान हुआ और फिर ज्योतिषी की बातों में नहीं उलझे।’
