ये है असली ज्ञान

मिस्र के प्राचीन विचारक अनस्तेशियस के आश्रम में पुस्तकों का विशाल संग्रह था। उस संग्रह में कई प्राचीन किताबें थीं। एक बार उनके आश्रम में आए सन्यासी ने उनका एक अमूल्य ग्रंथ चुरा लिया। यदि वे चाहते तो उस सन्यासी के पीछे अपने शिष्यों को भेजकर वह ग्रंथ हासिल कर सकते थे। लेकिन उन्हें डर था कि वह सन्यासी एक और पाप, झूठ बोलने का न कर दे।

कुछ दिनों बाद एक धनी व्यक्ति वह ग्रंथ लेकर अनस्तेशियस के आश्रम में आया। उसने कहा मुझे दुर्लभ ग्रंथ एकत्र करने का शौक है। मुझे इस ग्रंथ के बदले में एक सन्यासी मोटी रकम मांग रहा है। ऐसे में मुझे क्या करना चाहिए।

अनस्तेशियस ने अपना ग्रंथ पहचान लिया। उन्होंने कहा यह ग्रंथ अमूल्य है। इसे आप किसी भी मूल्य में खरीद लीजिए। धनी व्यक्ति ने कहा मैं मुंहमांगी कीमत पर धन खरीदने के लिए तैयार हूं। लेकिन उस सेठ ने बातों ही बातों में अनस्तेशियस की सलाह के बारे में भी बताया।

यह सुनकर वह सन्यासी दंग रह गया। आज तक उसकी भलाई के बारे में किसी ने भी नहीं सोचा था और न ही उससे इतना प्यार भरा व्यवहार किया था। उसने धनी व्यक्ति से वह ग्रंथ वापिस ले लिया और उसके पैसे लौटा दिए।

वह सन्यासी सीधे अनस्तेशियस के आश्रम पहुंचा। और विन्रम भाव से वह ग्रंथ अनस्तेशियस को लौटाना चाहा लेकिन अनस्तेशियस ने कहा रख लो, शायद तुम्हें इसकी जरूरत है।

सन्यासी ने कहा, मैं यह ग्रंथ लौटाना चाहता हूं और यहीं रहकर आपसे ज्ञान की प्राप्ति चाहता हूं। अनस्तेशियस ने उस सन्यासी को आश्रम में रख लिया।
