हर परिस्थिति में प्रसन्न रहकर ही हम ईश्वर के समीप पहुंच सकते हैं

दो संन्यासी थे, एक वृद्ध और एक युवा । दोनों साथ रहते थे । एक दिन महीनों बाद वे अपने मूल स्थान पर पहुंचे । जो एक साधारण-सी झोपड़ी थी । किंतु जब दोनों झोपड़ी में पहुंचे तो देखा कि वह छप्पर भी आंधी और हवा ने उड़ाकर न जाने कहां पटक दिया ।
यह देख युवा संन्यासी बड़बड़ाने लगा – अब हम प्रभु पर क्या विश्वास करें ? जो लोग सदैव छल-फरेब में लगे रहते हैं, उनके मकान सुरक्षित रहते हैं । एक हम हैं कि रात-दिन प्रभु के नाम की माला जपते हैं और उसने हमारा छप्पर ही उड़ा दिया। वृद्ध संन्यासी ने कहा – दुखी क्यों हो रहे हो ? छप्पर उड़ जाने पर भी आधी झोपड़ी पर तो छत है । भगवान को धन्यवाद दो कि उसने आधी झोपड़ी को ढंक रखा है । आंधी इसे भी नष्ट कर सकती थी, किंतु भगवान ने हमारे भक्ति भाव के कारण ही आधा भाग बचा लिया । युवा संन्यासी वृद्ध संन्यासी की बात नहीं समझ सका ।
वृद्ध संन्यासी तो लेटते ही निद्रामग्न हो गया, किंतु युवा संन्यासी को नींद नहीं आई । सुबह हो गई और वृद्ध संन्यासी जाग उठा । उसने प्रभु को नमस्कार करते हुए कहा- वाह प्रभु ! आज खुले आकाश के नीचे सुखद नींद आई। काश यह छप्पर बहुत पहले ही उड़ गया होता । यह सुनकर युवा संन्यासी झुंझलाकर बोला- एक तो उसने दुख दिया, ऊपर से धन्यवाद ! वृद्ध संन्यासी ने हंसकर कहा- तुम निराश हो गए, इसलिए रातभर दुखी रहे । मैं प्रसन्न ही रहा, इसलिए सुख की नींद सोया ।

संदेश यह है कि निराशा दुखदायी होती है । हर परिस्थिति में प्रसन्न रहकर ही हम ईश्वर के समीप पहुंच सकते हैं । यह काम किसी भी प्रार्थना से अधिक शक्तिशाली है ।

There were two ascetics, one old and one young. Both lived together. He arrived at his native place one day months later. Which was a simple hut. But when both of them reached the hut, they saw that the thatch was also blown away by the wind and wind. Seeing this, the young monk started rambling – Now what should we believe in God? Those who are always engaged in deceit, their houses are safe.One is that we chant the garland in the name of God day and night and he blew our thatch. The old monk said – Why are you sad? Half the hut has a roof even after thatch flew away. Thank God that he has covered half the hut. The storm could have destroyed it too, but God saved half of it due to our devotion. The young monk could not understand the old monk 

The old monk fell asleep as soon as he lay down, but the young monk did not sleep. It was morning and the old monk woke up. He greeted the Lord and said- Wow, Lord! I had a pleasant sleep under the open sky today. I wish that thatch would have flown long ago. Hearing this, the young monk said with annoyance – one he gave grief, thank you from above! The old monk laughed and said- You got frustrated, so remained miserable overnight. I remained happy, so I slept in happiness. 

The message is that despair is painful. We can reach God only by being happy in every situation. This work is more powerful than any prayer.
