संपत्ति बड़ी या संस्कार

दक्षिण भारत में एक महान् सन्त हुए तिरुवल्लुवर। वे अपने प्रवचनों से लोगों की समस्याओं का समाधान करते थे। इसलिए उन्हें सुनने के लिए दूर-दूर से लोग उनके पास आते थे।

एक बार वे एक नगर में पहुँचे। उनके प्रवचन को सुनने के पश्चात एक सेठ ने हाथ जोड़कर निराशा का भाव लिए उनसे कहा, गुरुवर, मैंने पाई-पाई जोड़ कर अपने इकलौते पुत्र के लिए अथाह संपत्ति एकत्र की है। मगर वह मेरी इस गाढ़े पसीने की कमाई को बड़ी बेदर्दी के साथ, बुरे व्यसनों में लुटा रहा है। मैं बहुत उलझन में हूँ। पता नहीं, भगवान किस अपराध के कारण मेरे साथ यह अन्याय कर रहा है।

सन्त ने मुस्करा कर कहा, ‘सेठ जी, तुम्हारे पिता ने तुम्हारे लिए कितनी संपत्ति छोड़ी थी ?

सेठ बोला, ‘वह बहुत ही गरीब थे। उन्होंने मेरे लिए कुछ भी नहीं छोड़ा था।’

सन्त ने कहा, ‘तुम्हारे पिता ने तुम्हारे लिए कुछ भी नहीं छोड़ा, इसके बावजूद तुम इतने धनवान हो गए

लेकिन अब तुम इतना धन जमा करने के बावजूद तुम यह समझ रहे हो कि तुम्हारा बेटा तुम्हारे बाद गरीबी में दिन काटेगा.?

सेठ ने अश्रुभरी आँखों से कहा, ‘आप सच कह रहे हैं। परन्तु मुझसे गलती कहाँ हुई जो वह व्यसनों में डूबा रहता है।’

सन्त ने कहा, तुम यह समझकर धन कमाने में लगे रहे कि अपनी सन्तान के लिए दौलत का अम्बार लगा देना ही एक पिता का कर्तव्य है। इस चक्कर में तुमने अपने बेटे की पढ़ाई और संस्कारों के विकास पर कोई ध्यान नहीं दिया।

मात-पिता का पुत्र के प्रति प्रथम कर्तव्य यही है कि वह उसे पहली पंक्ति में बैठने योग्य बना दे। बाकी तो सब कुछ अपनी योग्यता के बलबूते पर वह हासिल कर लेगा।’
सन्त की वाणी से सेठ की आँखें खुल गईं और उसने सिर्फ धन को महत्व न देकर अपने बेटे को सही रास्ते पर लाने के लिए उसे अच्छे अच्छे संस्कार देने का निर्णय किया।

कहते हैं न की….बच्चों को उनके पसंद के खिलौने नहीं दिये तो_थोड़ी देर रोयेंगे लेकिन अगर अच्छे संस्कार नहीं दिये तो बाद में वो जीवन भर रोयेंगे इसलिए अपने बच्चों को अच्छे संस्कार दिजिए क्योंकि
हमें अपनी संतान के केवल अच्छे केरियर(रोजगार) की ही चिन्ता नहीं बल्कि उसके अच्छे कैरेक्टर (चरित्र ) के निर्माण पर भी उससे अधिक ध्यान देना होगा, तभी वह समाज व राष्ट्र के लिए उपयोगी बन सकती है और यह प्रतिदिन अच्छे संस्कार देकर ही संभव है.

English Translation

Thiruvalluvar was a great saint in South India. He used to solve people’s problems with his discourses. So people came from far and wide to hear them.

Once they reached a city. After listening to his sermon, a Seth folded his hands and said to him with dismay, “Guruvar, I have amassed immense wealth for my only son by adding pie-pie.” But he is looting my hard-earned money in bad addictions with great disdain. I’m so confused. Don’t know, because of which crime God is doing this injustice to me.

The saint smiled and said, ‘Seth ji, how much property did your father leave for you?

Seth said, ‘He was very poor. They had left nothing for me. ‘

The saint said, ‘Your father left nothing for you, yet you have become so rich.

But now, despite accumulating so much money, you understand that your son will spend days in poverty after you.

Seth said with tearful eyes, ‘You are telling the truth. But where did I make the mistake that he is immersed in addictions. ‘

The saint said, you continue to earn money by realizing that it is the duty of a father to devote wealth to his children. In this affair, you did not pay any attention to the development of your son’s education and values.

The mother-father’s first duty to the son is that he should be able to sit in the first row. He will achieve everything else on his own merit. ‘
The saint’s voice opened Seth’s eyes, and he decided to give his son good rites in order to get his son on the right path, not just by giving importance to money.
