मरते वक्त बालि ने, अंगद से कही थी ये तीन बातें
रामायण में जब श्रीराम ने बालि को बाण मारा तो वह घायल होकर पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़ा था। इस अवस्था में जब पुत्र अंगद उसके पास आया तब बालि ने उसे ज्ञान की कुछ बातें बताई थीं। बालि ने कहा-

देश काल और परिस्थितियों को समझो।
किसके साथ कब, कहां और कैसा व्यवहार करें, इसका सही निर्णय लेना चाहिए।
पसंद-नापसंद, सुख-दुख को सहन करना चाहिए और क्षमाभाव के साथ रहना चाहिए।
ये है बालि वध का प्रसंग

जब बालि श्रीराम के बाण से घायल होकर पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़ा, तब बालि ने श्रीराम से कहा कि आप धर्म की रक्षा करते हैं तो मुझे (बालि को) इस प्रकार बाण क्यों मारा। इस प्रश्न के जवाब में श्रीराम ने कहा कि छोटे भाई की पत्नी, बहिन, पुत्र की पत्नी और पुत्री, ये सब समान होती हैं और जो व्यक्ति इन्हें बुरी नजर से देखता है, उसे मारने में कुछ भी पाप नहीं होता है। इस जवाब से बालि संतुष्ट हो गया और श्रीराम से अपने किए पापों की क्षमा याचना की। इसके बाद बालि ने अगंद को श्रीराम की सेवा में सौंप दिया।

इसके बाद बालि ने प्राण त्याग दिए। बाली की पत्नी तारा विलाप करने लगी। तब श्रीराम ने तारा को ज्ञान दिया कि यह शरीर पृथ्वी, जल, अग्नि, आकाश और वायु से मिलकर बना है। बालि का शरीर तुम्हारे सामने सोया है, लेकिन उसकी आत्मा अमर है तो विलाप नहीं करना चाहिए। इस प्रकार समझाने के बाद तारा शांत हुई। इसके बाद श्रीराम ने सुग्रीव को राज्य सौंप दिया।

After this, Bali sacrificed his life. Bali’s wife Tara started mourning. Then Shriram gave Tara knowledge that this body is made up of earth, water, fire, sky and air. Bali’s body has slept in front of you, but if her soul is immortal then do not moan. After explaining this way the star became calm. After this, Shri Ram handed over the kingdom to Sugriva.
