बापू ने कहा था, हानिकारक लोगों को देनी चाहिए यह सीख!

गुजरात में महात्मा गांधी के साबरमती आश्रम में लड़कियां भी रहती थीं। एक दिन की बात है कुछ लड़कियां कहीं से लौट रही थीं। रास्ते में कुछ लड़के उनको छेड़ने लगे। लड़कियां इस घटना से घबरा गईं और दौड़ते हुए आश्रम पहुंचीं।

उन्होंने सारी घटना का जिक्र बापू से किया। बापू बोल, ‘तुम लोग भाग क्यों आईं?’ हिम्मत से वहीं ठहरना था। तब एक लड़की बोली, ‘अगर लड़के हमारी बेइज्जती करते तब?’ बापू बोले, ‘तो उनको वहां सबक सिखाना चाहिए था।’ यह सुनकर सभी लड़कियां हैरान हो गईं। क्योंकि बापू तो हमेशा अहिंसा के मार्ग पर चलने की सीख देते थे।

बापू, लड़कियों के चेहरे पर पड़ी असमंजस के शिकन को समझ गए और फिर बोले, ‘अहिंसा बहादुरों का हथियार है। यह कोई नहीं समझता। अहिंसा के परदे में अपनी कमजोरी नहीं छिपानी चाहिए। यह कायरता है। तुम लोगों को समाज में पनप रहे ऐसे हानिकारक लोगों को सबक सिखाना चाहिए था। यूं नहीं आना चाहिए था।’
