महान संत गोरखनाथ ने घोर तपस्या के बल पर अनेक सिद्धियां प्राप्त की थीं। वह चाहते थे कि यह सिद्धियां किसी सुयोग्य संत को ही दी जाएं।

The great Saint Gorakhnath had achieved many accomplishments on the basis of austerity. He wanted that these works be given to a suitable saint only.

One day, Gorakhnath was sitting in Kashi on the banks of river Ganga. He saw a barrage of a Sannyasis flowing its penalty in the Ganges. Gorakhnath ji approached them. He said, ‘O Mahatma, I am in search of the virtuous like you, to whom I can provide the accomplishments of meditation.’

That’s why these accomplishments will make me gratuously. The sanyasi spread both hands in front of Baba Gorakhnath. Baba gave him his achievements Then the monk took the both of his hands towards the Ganges and said, ‘Mata Ganga, I have got rid of worldly pleasures with great fate. I dedicate these achievements to you. ‘

Guru Gorakhnath was surprised to see the annihilation of that monk. He said, Mahatma is actually a true sannyasin. You could not even draw rare siddhis and you did not think of taking a moment to devote them to water.
