पितृ पक्ष श्राद्ध

हिन्दू धर्म में मृत्यु के बाद श्राद्ध करना बेहद जरूरी माना जाता है। मान्यतानुसार अगर किसी मनुष्य का विधिपूर्वक श्राद्ध और तर्पण ना किया जाए तो उसे इस लोक से मुक्ति नहीं मिलती और वह भूत के रूप में इस संसार में ही रह जाता है। पितृ पक्ष का महत्त्व (Importance of Pitru Paksha)
ब्रह्म वैवर्त पुराण के अनुसार देवताओं को प्रसन्न करने से पहले मनुष्य को अपने पितरों यानि पूर्वजों को प्रसन्न करना चाहिए। हिन्दू ज्योतिष के अनुसार भी पितृ दोष को सबसे जटिल कुंडली दोषों में से एक माना जाता है। पितरों की शांति के लिए हर वर्ष भाद्रपद शुक्ल पूर्णिमा से आश्विन कृष्ण अमावस्या तक के काल को पितृ पक्ष श्राद्ध (Pitru Paksha) होते हैं। मान्यता है कि इस दौरान कुछ समय के लिए यमराज पितरों को आजाद कर देते हैं ताकि वह अपने परिजनों से श्राद्ध ग्रहण कर सकें।
