ऐसे मिलेगी मानसिक शांति

बहुत समय पहले की बात है। धार्मिक विचारों वाले एक राजा के पास कोई संत मिलने आए राजा प्रसन्न हो गया। भाव विभोर और आंखों में खुशी के आंसू के साथ राजा बोले, ‘मेरी इच्छा है कि आज आपके मन की कोई भी मुराद मैं पूरी करूं। बताइए आपको क्या उपहार चाहिए।’

संत असमंजस में पढ़ गए। उन्होंने कहा, ‘आप स्वयं अपने मन से जो भी उपहार देंगे। वह मैं स्वीकार कर लूंगा।’ लेकिन, राजा ने तपस्वी के सामने अपने राज्य के समर्पण की इच्छा जाहिर की।

तब संत ने कहा, राज्य तो जनता का है। राजा केवल उसका संरक्षक होता है। तब राजा ने दूसरे विकल्प के रूप में महल और सवारी आदि की बात कही। तपस्वी बोले, राजन् यह भी जनता का है। यह तो आपके राज-काज चलाने की सुविधा के लिए हैं।

तब राजा ने तीसरे विकल्प के तौर पर अपना शरीर दान करने की इच्छा जाहिर की। तब संत ने कहा, नहीं राजन् यह शरीर तो आपके बच्चों और पत्नी का है। आप इसे कैसे दान कर सकते हैं। राजा परेशान हो गया।

तब संत ने कहा, राजन् आप अपने मन के अहंकार का त्याग करें। अहंकार ही सबसे सख्त बंधन होता है। अगले दिन सूर्य की पहली किरण के साथ ही राजा ने अहंकार का त्याग किया। तब उसे मानसिक शांति मिली।

That was a long time ago. The king was pleased to meet a saint near a king having religious views. With emotion and tears of joy in the eyes, the king said, ‘I wish I could fulfill any of my wishes today. Tell me what gift you want. ‘

The saint went to dilemma. He said, ‘Whatever gift you give yourself with. I will accept that. ‘ But, the king expressed his desire to dedicate his kingdom to asceticism.

Then the saint said, the state is of the people. The king is only his guardian. Then the king spoke of the palace and the ride as the second option. The ascetic said, Rajan is also from the people. This is for convenience of running your secret.

Then the king expressed his desire to donate his body as a third option. Then the saint said, not the king, this body belongs to your children and wife. How can you donate it? The king got upset

Then the saint said, Rajan, you should sacrifice the ego of your mind. Ego is the strictest bond. The next day, with the first ray of the sun, the king abandoned the ego. Then he got mental peace.
