शिक्षक को पता था बच्चा देश भक्त बनेगा

महाराष्ट्र के रत्नागिरी जिले के काटलुक गांव में एक प्राईमरी स्कूल था। कक्षा चल रही थी। अध्यापक ने बच्चों से एक प्रश्न किया यदि तुम्हें रास्ते में एक हीरा मिल जाए तो तुम उसका क्या करोगे?

एक बालक ने कहा, मैं उसे बेच कर धनवान बन जाउंगा। किसी ने कहा कि वह उसे बेच विदेश यात्रा करेगा। लेकिन एक बालक का उत्तर था कि, मैं उस हीरे के मालिक का पता लगा कर लौटा दूंगा। अध्यापक हैरान थे, फिर उन्होंने कहा कि, मानो खूब पता लगाने पर भी उसका मालिक न मिला तो?

बालक बोला, तब मैं हीरे को बेचूंगा और इससे मिले पैसे को देश की सेवा में लगा दूंगा। शिक्षक बालक का उत्तर सुन कर गद्गद् हो गये और बोले, शाबास तुम बड़े होकर सचमुच देशभक्त बनोगे।

शिक्षक का कहा सत्य हुआ और वह बालक बड़ा होकर सचमुच देशभक्त बना,उसका नाम था, गोपाल कृष्ण गोखले।
