जब गुस्सा आए तो विवेक आजमाएं

जापान के किसी गांव में एक समुराई बूढ़ा योद्धा रहता था। उसके पास कई समुराई युद्धकला सीखने आते थे। एक बार एक विदेशी योद्धा उसे पराजित करने के लिए आया। वह साहसी था। उसके बारे में यहां तक कहा जाता था कि वह जहां भी जाता विजय होकर ही वापस अपने देश लौटता था।

जब विदेशी समुराई ने युद्ध करने की इच्छा जताई तो बूढ़े समुराई के शिष्यों ने मुकाबला न करने की प्रार्थना की। लेकिन बूढ़े समुराई ने उनकी नहीं मानीं और नियत समय पर युद्ध शुरू हुआ।

विदेशी समुराई, उस बूढ़े समुराई को अपमानित करने लगा। उसने, उन्हें गुस्सा दिलाने के सारे प्रयत्न किए लेकिन घंटों बाद भी उन्हें गुस्सा नहीं आया। यह देखकर विदेशी समुराई ने पैरों से धूल उड़ाकर जमीन पर थूक दिया। इतना सब कुछ हो जाने के बाद भी बूढ़े समुराई ने कुछ न कहा। अब उस विदेशी योद्धा को अपनी पराजय का अहसास हुआ और वह अपनी हार मानते हुए चला गया।

यह देखकर बूढ़े समुराई के शिष्य हैरान थे उन्होंने पूछा, आपका इतना अपमान हुआ फिर भी आप चुप रहे। तब उनके गुरु ने कहा, यदि कोई तुम्हें तोहफा दे और तुम उसे स्वीकार न करो तो वह किसका होगा ?शिष्यों ने कहा, ‘तोहफा देने वालों का ही होगा।’ गुरु बोले, ‘मैनें भी उसकी गालियों को स्वीकार नहीं किया। तो वह उसके पास ही गईं।’
