क्यों न क्रोध के कारण को ही मिटा दिया जाए

रोमन सम्राट जूलियस सीजर की गिनती दुनिया के श्रेष्ठ योद्धाओं में की जाती है। वह स्वयं को वीनस देवी का वंशज मानते थे। सीजर भी अपने पूर्वजों की राह पर चलते हुए एक तानाशाह बन गया। उसने अपने जीवन में अनेक युद्ध लड़े।

उसके दोस्तों की संख्या भी अच्छी-खासी थी और दुश्मन भी अनेक थे, जो तरह-तरह से उसके खिलाफ साजिश रचते रहते थे। लेकिन सीजर इन सब चीजों की परवाह नहीं करता था।

वह मानता था कि जीवन के हर पल को भरपूर जीने में ही सुख है। इसलिए घोर विपत्ति में भी वह जरा भी परेशान नहीं होता था। उसमें काम करने की एक धुन थी। उसके बारे में मशहूर है कि वह एक बार में तीन काम एक साथ करता था।

एक दिन सीजर अपने कुछ मित्रों के साथ बैठा था कि तभी उसे पत्रों का एक पुलिंदा मिला। वे पत्र उसके किसी विरोधी ने लिखे थे। सीजर ने उन्हें बिना पढ़े ही आग के हवाले कर दिया। यह देखकर उसके एक मित्र ने कहा, ‘आपने पत्र जलाकर अच्छा नहीं किया।’

इनके जरिए हम उनके षड्यंत्रों का पर्दाफाश कर सकते थे। अपने उस हितैषी को परामर्श के लिए धन्यवाद देने के बाद बड़े सधे अंदाज में सीजर ने कहा, ‘मैं क्रोध के प्रति बेहद सतर्क रहता हूं, पर मेरी दृष्टि में उससे भी ज्यादा आवश्यक कदम यह है कि क्रोध के कारण को ही मिटा दिया जा
