Born in Gujarat, Swami Dayanand Saraswati courageously challenged oppressive practices within Hindu tradition and advocated for a return to the teachings of the Vedas. His relentless efforts focused on eradicating social stigmas like child marriage and Casteism. By dismantling numerous orthodox customs, he laid the groundwork for future reforms in Indian society. In 1875, Swami Dayanand Saraswati established the Arya Samaj, an organization dedicated to promoting universal and noble ideals for all of humanity. Through the Arya Samaj, he spearheaded a movement against prevailing social injustices prevalent in Hindu society during that era, championing peace and progressive living for all.
