स्याही से नहीं खून से करो हस्ताक्षर

बात उस समय की है, जब रंगून में नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस की आजाद हिंद फोज में भर्ती होने के लिए भीड़ लगी हुई थी।

नेताजी ने एक मंच से जनता को संबोधित करते हुए कहां, दोस्तों, आजादी बलिदान चाहती है, तुम मुझे खून दो, मैं तुम्हें आजादी दूंगा। भीड़ चिल्ला उठी, नेताजी, आप के एक इशारे पर हम अपना तन,मनऔर धन सब कुछ भारत माता के चरणों में समर्पित कर देंगे।

तब नेताजी ने कहा ठीक है दोस्तों, आगे आइए इस शपथ पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर कीजिए। भीड़ में आपाधापी मच गई। हर एक व्यक्ति शपथपत्र पर हस्ताक्षर के लिए आगे आना चाहता था।

शपथपत्र पर पहले हस्तात्क्षर कर नेताजी की नजरों में महान बनने की फिराक में सभी थे। इससे पहले की नेताजी की आवाज गूंजी ठहरो, मुझे तुम्हारे खून के हस्ताक्षर चाहिए। जो आजादी के लिए सर्वस्व अर्पित करने का दंभ भरता हो वह अपने खून से हस्ताक्षर करे, यह सुनकर भीड़ में मौजूद सभी लोग सहम गए और धीर-धीरे पीछे जाने लगे।

तभी अचानक 17 लड़कियां आगे बढ़ीं और आनन-फानन में उन्होंने अपनी कमर से छुरियां निकालीं और अपनी अंगुलियों को काट कर शपथ पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर किए।
