रामायण एक ऐसा ग्रन्थ है जो सदियो से मानव का मार्ग दर्शन कर रहा है । उसका हर एक पात्र अपने आप मे एक शिक्षा देता है | आपन उन किरदार के बारें में कितना ज्ञान रखते है | आपको सभी किरदार के बारें में बताते है, अगर कोई किरदार का नाम यहां पर नहीं है कृपा करके हमें बताये, हम उनका नाम और जानकारी भी दाल देंगे.

Dasaratha – King of Kaushal, friend of Raghuvanshi king Indra and capital and residence Ayodhya

Kaushalya – Dasaratha’s elder queen, Rama’s mother

Sumitra – Dasaratha’s middle queen, Lakshmana and Shatrughna’s mother

Kaikeyi – Dasaratha’s younger queen, Bharata’s mother

Sita – daughter of Janaka, wife of Rama

Urmila – Janakaputri, Lakshmana’s wife

Mandvi – daughter of Kushadhwaj, brother of Janaka, wife of Bharata

Shrutkirti – daughter of Kushadhwaj, brother of Janaka, wife of Shatrughna

Rama – son of Dasaratha and Kausalya, husband of Sita

Lakshmana – son of Dasaratha and Sumitra, husband of Urmila

Bharata – son of Dasaratha and Kaikeyi, husband of Mandavi.

Shatrughan – husband of Srutakirti, son of Dasaratha and Sumitra, the destroyer of Lavanasura, the king of Mathura.

Bali – King of Kishkindha (Pampapur), friend and brother-in-law of Ravana, force of sixty thousand elephants

Sugriva – Bali’s younger brother, whom Hanuman ji befriended

Tara – wife of Bali, mother of Angad, place in Panchkanyas

Ruma – Sugriva’s wife, Sushen Vaidya’s daughter

Angad – Son of Bali and Tara.

Ravana – grandson of sage Pulastya, son of Vishrava and Pushpotkata

Kumbhakarna – brother of Ravana and Kumbhinasi, son of Vishrava and Pushpotkata.

Kumbhinasi – sister of Ravana and Kumbhakarna, daughter of Vishrava and Pushpotkata

Vishrava – Son of sage Pulastya, husband of Pushpotkata, Raka, Malini

Vibhishana – Son of Vishrava and Raka, Devotee of Rama

Pushpotkata – Wife of Vishrava, mother of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Kumbhinasi

Raka – Vishrava’s wife, Vibhishana’s mother

Malini – Vishrava’s third wife, Khar-Dushan, Trisara and Shurpanakha’s mother.

Trisara – son of Vishrava and Malini, brother of Khar-Dushan and commander in chief

Shurpanakha – daughter of Vishrava and Malini, sister of Khar-Dushan and Trisara, residence in Vindhya region.

Mandodari – Ravana’s wife, Tara’s sister, place in Panchkanyas

Meghnad – Indrajit, son of Ravana, killed by Lakshmana

Dadhimukh – Sugriva’s maternal uncle

Tadka – demonic, living in the forests of Mithila, killed by Rama.

Marich – son of Tadka, killed by Rama (in the form of a golden deer).

Subahu – Marichi’s fellow demon, killed by Rama.

Sursa – Mother of snakes.

Trijata – Ashok Vatika Nivasini Rakshasi, devotee of Ram, attachment to Sita.

Prahasta – Ravana’s commander, died in the Ram-Ravana war.

Viradha – Residence in Dandak forest, slaughtered by Rama Lakshmana together.

Shambhasur – Demon, killed by Indra, while fighting with him, Kaikeyi saved Dasharatha and Dasharatha asked for a boon.

Sinhika (Lankini) – The demonic woman who lived near Lanka, used to catch and eat the shadow.

Kabanda – The demon of Dandak forest, its head got hit in the torso by Indra’s attack, its arms were very long, caught Ram-Laxman, Ram-Laxman dug a pit and buried him in it.

Jamwant – Bear, the commander of the bear army.

Nal – The monkey warrior of Sugriva’s army.

Neel – The commander of Sugriva, by whose touch the stones floated on the water, had created the Setubandha.

Nal and Neel – Engineers in Sugriva Sena and great contribution in construction of Ram Setu. (Architect Engineer of the world’s first International Highway “Ramsetu”)

Shabari – Ram devotee of untouchable caste, hospitality of Ram-Laxman-Sita in Matang Rishi’s ashram.

Sampati – Jatayu’s elder brother, told the monkeys the address of Sita.

Jatayu – Ram devotee bird, killed by Ravana, cremated by Ram.

Guh – The king of Nishadas of Srangverpur, had welcomed Rama.

Hanuman ji – Son of Pawan, devotee of Ram, friend of Sugriva.

Sushen Vaidya – father-in-law of Sugriva.

Kevat – the boatman, made Ram-Laxman-Sita cross the Ganges.

Shukra-Saran – Ravana’s minister who disguised himself as a monkey and went to know the secrets of Rama’s army.

Agastya – The first Arya sage who crossed Vindhyachal mountain and went to South India.

Gautam – ascetic sage, husband of Ahilya, ashram near Mithila.

Ahilya – Wife of sage Gautam, tricked by Indra and cursed by her husband, freed from the curse by Rama, ranked among the Panchakanyas.

Rinyasranga – The sage who had performed a yagya to get a son from Dasaratha.

Sutikshna – A sage, disciple of sage Agastya.

Matang – Rishi, Ashram near Pampasura, Shabri also used to live here.

Vashishtha – Guru of Suryavanshi kings of Ayodhya.

Vishwamitra – The son of King Gandhi, had taught archery to Ram-Laxman.

Sharbhanga – a sage, hermitage near Chitrakoot.

Siddhashram – Name of Vishwamitra’s ashram.

Bhardwaj – Valmiki’s disciple, was with Valmiki at the time of killing the Kraunch bird on the Tamsa river, recited the verse ‘Maa-Nishad’ to Valmiki immediately.

Satananda – The sage who accompanied Janaka to welcome Rama.

Yudhajit – Bharat’s maternal uncle.

Janak – King of Mithila.

Sumanta – Chief among the eight ministers of Dasaratha.

Manthara – Kaikeyi’s face-faced maid, hunchbacked.

Devraj – Ancestor of Janak – to whom Parshuram had placed Shankar’s bow Sunabh (Pinaka).

MayDanav – Ravana’s father-in-law and his wife Mandodari’s father

Mayavi – son of the demon Maya and brother-in-law of Ravana, who was killed by Bali

Maricha – maternal uncle of Ravana

Sumali – Ravan’s maternal grandfather

Malyavan—brother of Sumali, veteran minister of Ravana

Narantak – Ravana’s son, because of his birth in Mool Nakshatra, Ravana made him flow into the ocean. Ravana took his help in the war because he was alone.

Dadhibal – Son of Angad who killed Narantak. Narantak was cursed that only Dadhibal would kill him.

कैकेयी – दशरथ की छोटी रानी, भरत की माँ

सीता – जनक की बेटी, राम की पत्नी

उर्मिला – जनकपुत्री, लक्ष्मण की पत्नी

मांडवी – कुशध्वज की पुत्री, जनक के भाई, भरत की पत्नी

श्रुतकीर्ति – कुशध्वज की पुत्री, जनक के भाई, शत्रुघ्न की पत्नी

राम – दशरथ और कौशल्या के पुत्र, सीता के पति

लक्ष्मण – दशरथ के पुत्र और सुमित्रा, उर्मिला के पति

भरत – दशरथ और कैकेयी के पुत्र, मांडवी के पति।

शत्रुघ्न – श्रुतकीर्ति के पति, दशरथ और सुमित्रा के पुत्र, मथुरा के राजा लवणासुर के संहारक।

बाली – किष्किंधा (पम्पापुर) का राजा, रावण का मित्र और बहनोई, साठ हजार हाथियों का बल

सुग्रीव– बाली का छोटा भाई, जिससे हनुमान जी ने मित्रता की

तारा – बाली की पत्नी, अंगद की माता, पंचकन्याओं में स्थान

रूमा – सुग्रीव की पत्नी, सुषेण वैद्य की पुत्री

अंगद – बाली और तारा के पुत्र।

रावण – ऋषि पुलस्त्य का पोता, विश्रवा और पुष्पोत्कटा का पुत्र

कुम्भकर्ण – रावण और कुम्भीनसी का भाई, विश्रवा और पुष्पोत्कटा का पुत्र।

कुंभीनसी – रावण और कुंभकर्ण की बहन, विश्रवा और पुष्पोत्कटा की बेटी

विश्रवा – ऋषि पुलस्त्य के पुत्र, पुष्पोत्कटा, राका, मालिनी के पति

विभीषण – विश्रवा और राका के पुत्र, राम के भक्त

पुष्पोत्कटा – विश्रवा की पत्नी, रावण, कुम्भकर्ण और कुम्भीनसी की माँ

राका – विश्रवा की पत्नी, विभीषण की माँ

मालिनी – विश्रवा की तीसरी पत्नी, खर-दूषण, त्रिसरा और शूर्पणखा की माँ।

त्रिसार – विश्रवा और मालिनी का पुत्र, खर-दूषण का भाई और प्रधान सेनापति

शूर्पणखा – विश्रवा और मालिनी की पुत्री, खर-दूषण और त्रिसरा की बहन, विंध्य क्षेत्र में निवास।

मंदोदरी – रावण की पत्नी, तारा की बहन, पंचकन्याओं में स्थान

मेघनाद – रावण का पुत्र इंद्रजीत, लक्ष्मण द्वारा मारा गया

दधिमुख – सुग्रीव के मामा

ताड़का – मिथिला के जंगलों में रहने वाली राक्षसी, जिसका वध राम ने किया था।

मारीच – ताड़का का पुत्र, राम द्वारा मारा गया (सोने के हिरण के रूप में)।

सुबाहु – मारीचि का साथी राक्षस, राम द्वारा मारा गया।

सुरसा – साँपों की माता।

त्रिजटा – अशोक वाटिका निवासिनी राक्षसी, राम भक्त, सीता से लगाव।

प्रहस्त – रावण का सेनापति, राम-रावण युद्ध में मारा गया।

विराध – दंडक वन में निवास, राम लक्ष्मण द्वारा एक साथ वध।

शम्भासुर – राक्षस, इंद्र द्वारा मारा गया, उसके साथ युद्ध करते समय, कैकेयी ने दशरथ को बचाया और दशरथ ने वरदान मांगा।

सिंहिका (लंकिनी)- लंका के पास रहने वाली राक्षसी छाया को पकड़कर खा जाती थी।

कबंद – दंडक वन का राक्षस, इंद्र के वार से इसका सिर धड़ में लग गया, इसकी भुजाएं बहुत लंबी थीं, इसने राम-लक्ष्मण को पकड़ लिया, राम-लक्ष्मण ने गड्ढा खोदकर उसे उसमें दबा दिया।

जामवन्त – रीछ, रीछ सेना के सेनापति।

नल – सुग्रीव की सेना के वानर योद्धा।

नील – सुग्रीव के सेनापति, जिनके स्पर्श से पत्थर पानी पर तैरते थे, ने सेतुबंध का निर्माण किया था।

नल और नील – सुग्रीव सेना में इंजीनियर और राम सेतु के निर्माण में महान योगदान। (दुनिया के पहले अंतर्राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग “रामसेतु” के आर्किटेक्ट इंजीनियर)

शबरी – अछूत जाति की राम भक्त, मतंग ऋषि के आश्रम में राम-लक्ष्मण-सीता का आतिथ्य।

सम्पाती – जटायु के बड़े भाई, ने वानरों को सीता का पता बताया।

जटायु – राम भक्त पक्षी, रावण द्वारा मारा गया, राम द्वारा दाह संस्कार किया गया।

गुह – श्रंगवेरपुर के निषादों के राजा ने राम का स्वागत किया था।

हनुमान जी – पवन पुत्र, राम भक्त, सुग्रीव के मित्र।

सुषेण वैद्य – सुग्रीव के ससुर।

केवट-केवट ने राम-लक्ष्मण-सीता को गंगा पार कराया।

शुक्र–सारण – रावण का मंत्री जो वानर का भेष बनाकर राम की सेना का रहस्य जानने गया था।

अगस्त्य – प्रथम आर्य ऋषि जो विंध्याचल पर्वत को पार करके दक्षिण भारत में गये।

गौतम – तपस्वी ऋषि, अहिल्या के पति, मिथिला के निकट आश्रम।

अहिल्या – ऋषि गौतम की पत्नी, इंद्र द्वारा धोखा दिया गया और अपने पति द्वारा श्रापित, राम द्वारा श्राप से मुक्त, पंचकन्याओं में स्थान प्राप्त।

ऋणश्रंग – ऋषि जिन्होंने दशरथ से पुत्र प्राप्ति के लिए यज्ञ किया था।

सुतीक्ष्ण – एक ऋषि, ऋषि अगस्त्य के शिष्य।

मतंग ऋषि, पंपासुर के पास आश्रम, शबरी भी यहीं रहती थीं।

वशिष्ठ – अयोध्या के सूर्यवंशी राजाओं के गुरु।

विश्वामित्र – राजा गाधि के पुत्र, ने राम-लक्ष्मण को धनुर्विद्या सिखाई थी।

शरभंग – एक ऋषि, आश्रम, जो कि चित्रकोट के निकट है।

सिद्धाश्रम– विश्वामित्र के आश्रम का नाम।

भारद्वाज – वाल्मिकी के शिष्य, तमसा नदी पर क्रौंच पक्षी को मारने के समय वाल्मिकी के साथ थे, उन्होंने तुरंत वाल्मिकी को ‘माँ-निषाद’ श्लोक सुनाया।

सतानंद – ऋषि जो राम के स्वागत के लिए जनक के साथ गए थे।

युधाजित – भरत के मामा।

जनक – मिथिला के राजा।

सुमंत – दशरथ के आठ मंत्रियों में प्रमुख।

मंथरा– कैकेयी की मुँह-मुँह वाली दासी, कुबड़ी।

देवराज – जनक के पूर्वज – जिन पर परशुराम ने शंकर का धनुष सुनाभ (पिनाक) रखा था।

मयदानव – रावण के ससुर और उसकी पत्नी मंदोदरी के पिता
मायावी – राक्षस माया का पुत्र और रावण का बहनोई, जो बाली द्वारा मारा गया था
मारीच – रावण का मामा
सुमाली – रावण का नाना
माल्यवान-रावण के वयोवृद्ध मंत्री सुमाली का भाई
नरान्तक– रावण का पुत्र, मूल नक्षत्र में जन्म होने के कारण रावण ने उसे समुद्र में बहा दिया। रावण अकेला होने के कारण युद्ध में उसकी सहायता लेता था।
दधिबल – अंगद का पुत्र जिसने नरान्तक का वध किया। नरान्तक को श्राप था कि दधिबल ही उसका वध करेगा।
