बचपन में हुआ दया से साक्षात्कार

यह प्रसंग सुभाषचंद्र बोस के बचपन के दिनों का है, एक बार सुभाष की मां प्रभावती देवी उनके अध्ययन कक्ष में आईं, तो वह कमरे में नहीं थे।

प्रभावती देवी ने देखा कि चीटियों की लंबी कतार सुभाष की मेज से किताबों की अलमारी की ओर जा रही है। उन्होंने फर्श और अलमारी के चारों तरफ ध्यान से देखा।

प्रभावती देवी ने सोचा कि, ‘हो सकता है कि अलमारी में कोई कीट मर गया हो।‘ इस अनुमान से उन्होंने अलमारी खोली और किताबें उलट-पलट कर देखने लगीं।

तभी पुस्तकों के पीछे दो मीठी रोटियां दिखाई दीं। चीटियां, रोटी के कण तोड़-तोड़कर ले जा रही थीं। मां को समझते देर न लगी कि अवश्य ही रोटियां उनके बेटे ने किसी खास कारण से रखी होंगी। तभी वहां सुभाष आ गए।

मां ने कहा, ‘ बेटा, अलमारी में रोटियां क्यों रखी थीं?’ सुभाष ने कहा, ‘ मां आपने वे रोटियां फेंक दीं? आपने ठीक ही किया। दरअसल बात यह है कि मैं रोज अपने खाने से दो रोटियां बचाकर एक बूढ़ी भिखारिन को दिया करता था।

वह मेरे स्कूल के रास्ते में खड़ी होती थी। कल जब मैं रोटियां देने गया, तो वह अपनी जगह पर नहीं थी। इसीलिए उसके हिस्से की रोटियां मैंने यहां रख दीं कि फिर किसी समय जाकर दे आऊंगा।

मै अभी वहां गया, तो पता चला कि उनका स्वर्गवास हो गया है। सुभाष चंद्र बोस की मां एकटक उन्हें देखने लगीं। इस तरह सुभाष चंद्र बोस का यह दया भाव जीवन भर लोगों के प्रति बना रहा।
