दुर्जन से नहीं उनके दुर्गणों से घृणा करो

संत राबिया किसी धर्मग्रंथ का अध्ययन कर रही थीं। अचानक उनकी निगाह एक शब्द पर आकर रुक गई। वह शब्द था, ‘दुर्जनों से घृणा करो?’ वे कुछ देर तक उसी को दोहराती रहीं फिर उन्होंने उस पंक्ति को काट दिया।

कुछ समय बाद दो संत उनके घर आए सामने रखे ग्रंथ पर उनकी निगाह पड़ी तो वे उस ग्रंथ को पढ़ने लगे। उन्होंने तब उस कटे हुए शब्द को पढ़ा और संत राबिया से पूछा, ‘इस शब्द को आपने क्यों काट दिया है?’

संत राबिया बोलीं, इस पंक्ति को मैंने ही काटा है। दोनों संत नाराज होते हुए बोले, ‘धर्मग्रंथ में जो लिखा है वो गलत नहीं हो सकता आपने उसमें संशोधन करने की कोशिश क्यों की?’ राबिया ने कहा, पहले मुझे लगा कि यह ठीक लिखा है फिर मुझे ऐसा लगा कि दुर्जनों से नहीं उनके दुर्गणों से घृणा करो। यह ठीक है इसलिए मैंने यह शब्द काट दिया।

संक्षेप में

हमें यह प्रयास करना चाहिए कि हम एक दूसरे के प्रति प्रेम भाव रखें। मानव के लिए प्रेम के अतिरिक्त और कोई भाव नहीं है। संत राबिया की बात सुनकर वो दोनों संत चुपचाप वहां से चले गए।

Sant Rabia was studying any scripture. Suddenly their eyes stopped at one word. That was the word, ‘Do you hate the wicked?’ They kept repeating him for a while, then he cut that line.

After some time, when two saints came to their house, they looked at the book placed in front of them, then they started reading that book. They then read the cut out and asked Saint Rabia, ‘Why have you cut this word?’

Saint Rabiya said, this line I have cut. Both saints were angry and said, ‘What is written in the scripture can not be wrong, why did you try to amend it?’ Rabiya said, I first thought that it is written properly, then I felt that the villagers do not hate them. That’s right so I cut this word.

We should try that we have a love for each other. There is no other emotion than human love. Listening to Saint Rabia, both of the saints quietly moved away from there.
