संस्कार
श्री टी.एन. शेषन जब मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त थे, तो परिवार के साथ छुट्टीयां बिताने के लिए मसूरी जा रहे थे। परिवार के साथ उत्तर प्रदेश से निकलते हुऐ रास्ते में उन्होंने देखा कि पेड़ों पर गौरैया के कई सुन्दर घोंसले बने हुए हैं।

यह देखते ही उनकी पत्नी ने अपने घर की दीवारों को सजाने के लिए गौरैया के दो घोंसले लेने की इच्छा व्यक्त की तो उनके साथ चल रहे। पुलिसकर्मियों ने तुरंत एक छोटे से लड़के को बुलाया, जो वहां मवेशियों को चरा रहा था.उसे पेड़ों से तोड कर दो गौरैया के घोंसले लाने के लिए कहा। लडके ने इंकार मे सर हिला दिया।

श्री शेषन ने इसके लिए लड़के को 10 रुपये देने की पेशकश की। फिर भी लड़के के इनकार करने पर श्री शेषन ने बढ़ा कर ₹ 50/ देने की पेशकश की। फिर भी लड़के ने हामी नहीं भरी। पुलिस ने तब लड़के को धमकी दी और उसे बताया कि साहब ज़ज हैं और तुझे जेल में भी डलवा सकते हैं। गंभीर परिणाम भुगतने होंगे।

लड़का तब श्रीमती और श्री शेषन के पास गया और कहा,- “साहब, मैं ऐसा नहीं कर सकता। उन घोंसलों में गौरैया के छोटे बच्चे हैं अगर मैं आपको दो घोंसले दूं, तो जो गौरैया अपने बच्चों के लिए भोजन की तलाश में बाहर गई हुई है, जब वह वापस आएगी और बच्चों को नहीं देखेगी तो बहुत दुःखी होगी जिसका पाप मैं नहीं ले सकता”
यह सुनकर श्री टी.एन. शेषन दंग रह गए।

श्री शेषन ने अपनी आत्मकथा में लिखा है-“मेरी स्थिति, शक्ति और आईएएस की डिग्री सिर्फ उस छोटे, अनपढ़, मवेशी चराने वाले लड़के द्वारा बोले गए शब्दों के सामने पिघल गई। “पत्नी द्वारा घोंसले की इच्छा करने और घर लौटने के बाद, मुझे उस घटना के कारण अपराध बोध की गहरी भावना का सामना करना पड़ा”

जरूरी नहीं कि शिक्षा और महंगे कपड़े मानवता की शिक्षा दे ही दें। यह आवश्यक नहीं हैं, यह तो भीतर के संस्कारों से पनपती है। दया, करूणा, दूसरों की भलाई का भाव, छल कपट न करने का भाव मनुष्य को परिवार के बुजुर्गों द्वारा दिये संस्कारों से तथा अच्छी संगत से आते है अगर संगत बुरी है तो अच्छे गुण आने का प्रश्न ही नही है।

Mr. T.N. When Seshan was the Chief Election Commissioner, he was going to Mussoorie to spend holidays with the family. On the way out of Uttar Pradesh with the family, he saw that there are many beautiful sparrows nests on the trees.

Seeing this, his wife expressed her desire to take two nests of the sparrow to decorate the walls of her house, and walk with them. The policemen immediately called a little boy, who was grazing the cattle there, and broke it from the trees and asked him to bring two sparrow’s nests. The boy shook his head in denial.

Mr. Seshan offered the boy 10 rupees for this. However, on the refusal of the boy, Mr. Seshan offered to raise ₹ 50 / -. Still the boy did not agree. The police then threatened the boy and told him that Saheb is a judge and may even put you in jail. Serious consequences will have to be suffered.

The boy then went to Mrs. and Mr. Seshan and said, “Sir, I cannot do that. The sparrow has small children in those nests. If I give you two nests, the sparrow went out in search of food for its children.” Happened, when she will come back and not see the children, I will be very sad, whose sin I cannot take “
Hearing this, Mr. T.N. Seshan was taken aback.

Mr. Seshan wrote in his autobiography- “My status, power and degree of IAS just melted in front of the words spoken by that little, illiterate, cattle grazing boy.” After the wife wishes to nest and returns home, I had to face a deep sense of guilt because of that incident. “

Education and expensive clothes do not necessarily impart education to humanity. It is not necessary, it thrives in inner rites. Kindness, compassion, a sense of well being of others, a sense of not being a fraud, a man comes from the rites given by the elders of the family and with good company, if the company is bad then there is no question of having good qualities.
