हेनरी फोर्ड – HENRY FORD

हेनरी फोर्ड का जन्म ३० जुलाई १८६३ को अमरीका के मिशिगन प्रान्त की ग्रीन फील्ड टाउनशिप में हुआ था. उनके पिता विलियम फोर्ड एक कृषक थे और माता मेरी फोर्ड एक गृहणी. माता-पिता की छः संतानों में फोर्ड सबसे बड़े थे.

हेनरी फोर्ड (Henक बry Ford) एक किसान के बेटे थे. उनके पिता चाहते थे कि वह भी उनकी तरह ही  एक किसान बने. लेकिन हेनरी फोर्ड ने एक बड़ा सपना देखा और लगातार उस सपने को पूर्ण शा करने की दिमें कार्य करते रहे. बार-बार असफल होने पर भी उनके कदम नहीं लड़खड़ाये और अपनी लगन और परिश्रम के दम पर वे दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी ऑटोमोबाइल कंपनी के मालिने.

फोर्ड का बचपन अपने छः भाई-बहनों के साथ पिता के फार्म हाउस में व्यतीत हुआ. बचपन से ही मशीनों के प्रति उनका विशेष रूझान था और वे पड़ोसियों के मध्य “वाच रिपेयरमैन” के नाम से मशहूर थे. पढ़ाई के प्रति रुचि न होने के कारण उनकी स्कूली शिक्षा सीमित रही.

पिता की इच्छा थी कि फोर्ड पारिवारिक कृषि व्यवसाय में उनका हाथ बंटाये. किंतु बचपन से ही मशीनों की ओर रूझान होने के कारण पिता की इच्छा के विरूद्ध सोलह वर्ष की आयु में वे घर छोड़कर डेट्राइट जा पहुँचे.तीन साल का प्रशिक्षण पूर्ण करने के उपरांत वे पिता के घर लौट आये. वापस आकर उन्होंने “वेस्टिंग हाउस इंजन कंपनी” में नौकरी कर ली. १८९१ में उन्हें ‘Edison Illuminating Company’ में इंजीनियर की नौकरी मिल गई और वे पत्नि के साथ डेट्राइट चले गए.

१८९३ में फोर्ड अपना पहला अविष्कार ४ हार्सपावर तथा २० mph की स्वचालित कार का निर्माण करने में सफल हुए, जिसे उन्होंने Ford Quadricycle का नाम देकर डेट्राइट की सड़कों पर प्रदर्शित किया. इस कार में कई कमियां थी. अतः इसे २०० डॉलर में बेचकर वे पुनः शोधकार्य में जुट गए.मॉडल-टी कार के बाद उसे रिडिजाइन कर ‘मॉडल ए’ कार बनाई गई, जिसने भी लोकप्रियता का कीर्तिमान बनाया. इस प्रकार हेनरी फोर्ड कारों की दुनिया के पितामह बन गए. ७ अप्रैल १९४७ को हेनरी फोर्ड की मृत्यु हो गई, किंतु आज भी उनकी विरासत कायम है. उनके पड़पोते विलियम क्ले फोर्ड जूनियर आज ‘Ford Motor Company’ के executive chairman हैं. फोर्ड मोटर कंपनी आज विश्वविख्यात है। इस कंपनी को उसका नाम संस्थापक हेनरी फोर्ड के नाम से मिला है, जो अमेरिका के सबसे बड़े उद्योगपति में से एक थे। लेकिन हेनरी फोर्ड हमेशा से ही सफल उद्योगपति नहीं थे।

उनकी शुरुआत असफलताओं और चुनौतियों से हुई थी| पहले उनकी 2 कम्पनियाँ शुरू होने के कुछ समय के अन्दर ही विफल हो चुकी थी। लेकिन इन असफलताओं ने उन्हें अपनी अगली और सफल कंपनी “फोर्ड मोटर्स” को शुरू करने से नहीं रोका। वे मोटरकार बनाने में असेंबली लाइन का प्रयोग करने वाले सबसे पहले उद्योगपति थे जिन्होंने कार उद्योग में क्रांति ला दी थी।

Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1873 in Green Field Township, Michigan County, USA. His father William Ford was a farmer and mother Mary Ford a homemaker. Ford was the eldest of six parents.

Henry Ford (Ford) was the son of a farmer. His father wanted him to become a farmer just like him. But Henry Ford had a big dream and continued to work hard to fulfill that dream. Despite repeated failures, his steps did not falter and on the strength of his dedication and hard work, he became the owner of the world’s largest automobile company.

Ford spent his childhood with his six siblings in the father’s farmhouse. He had a special tendency towards machines since childhood and he was known as “Watch Repairman” among the neighbors. His schooling was limited due to lack of interest in studies.

The father wished that Ford would join him in the family farming business. But due to his tendency towards machines since childhood, he left home and moved to Detroit at the age of sixteen against the father’s wish. After completing three years of training, he returned to his father’s house. After coming back, he joined the “Westing House Engine Company”. In 1891, he got an engineer job in ‘Edison Illuminating Company’ and moved to Detroit with his wife.

In 1793, Ford was able to produce its first invention, a 6 horsepower and a 20 mph automatic car, which he named as the Ford Quadricycle and it was displayed on the streets of Detroit. This car had many drawbacks. So, after selling it for $ 200, he again got involved in research. After the model-T car, it was redesigned to be a Model A car, which also created a record of popularity. 

Thus Henry Ford became the grand father of the world of cars. Henry Ford died on April 7, 1949, but his legacy continues to this day. His great-grandson William Clay Ford Jr. is the executive chairman of the Ford Motor Company today. Ford Family a is America’s richest Family, with a net worth of about $ 2 billion. 

After the Model-T car, it was redesigned to be a ‘Model A’ car, which also created a record of popularity. Thus Henry Ford became the grand father of the world of cars. Ford Motor Company is world famous today. The company derives its name from founder Henry Ford, who was one of America’s biggest industrialists. But Henry Ford was not always a successful industrialist. 

They started with failures and challenges. Earlier, 2 of his companies had failed within some time of starting. But these failures did not prevent him from starting his next and successful company, “Ford Motors”. He was the first industrialist to use the assembly line to make motorcars which revolutionized the car industry.
