जहाँ धर्म, वहीं विजय

महानारायणोपनिषद् में कहा गया है, धर्मों विश्वस्य जगतः प्रतिष्ठा अर्थात् धर्म ही समस्त संसार की प्रतिष्ठा का मूल है। भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण भी कहते हैं कि प्राणों पर संकट भले ही आ जाए, फिर भी धर्म पालन से डिगना नहीं चाहिए।

महाभारत युद्ध के दौरान दुर्योधन प्रतिदिन माता गांधारी के पास पहुँचकर विजय की कामना के लिए आशीर्वाद की याचना किया करता था। गांधारी धर्म के तत्त्व को समझने वाली विदुषी महिला थीं।

जैसे ही दुर्योधन आशीर्वाद की याचना करता, गांधारी कहतीं, यतो धर्मस्ततो जयः। अर्थात् जहाँ धर्म है, वहीं विजय है। गांधारी जानती थीं कि दुर्योधन अधर्म के रास्ते पर है, इसलिए वे विजय के लिए आशीर्वाद नहीं देती थीं।

युद्ध में एक-एक कर गांधारी के समस्त पुत्रों का अंत हो गया। धर्मज्ञ होने के बावजूद वे एक माँ थीं। उनका हृदय पुत्र-शोक से संतप्त हो उठा। कौरवों का नाश करने के बाद युधिष्ठिर पांडवों समेत गांधारी के पास संवेदना व्यक्त करने पहुँचे।

वहाँ महर्षि व्यास भी आ पहुँचे। गांधारी ने जैसे ही युधिष्ठिर एवं अन्य पांडवों को देखा, वे अपने पुत्रों को याद कर धैर्य खोकर क्रोध में तमतमा उठीं।

महर्षि व्यास समझ गए कि गांधारी शाप के शब्द निकालने को तत्पर हैं। उन्होंने कहा, ‘राजकुमारी गांधारी, शांत हो जाओ। तुम्हें धैर्य खोकर पांडवों पर क्रोध नहीं करना चाहिए।

आशीर्वाद की याचना किए जाने पर तुम दुर्योधन को एक ही बात कहती थीं कि जहाँ धर्म है, वहीं विजय है। क्या पांडवों की विजय के बाद भी तुम्हें विश्वास नहीं होता कि पांडवों की विजय धर्म की विजय है?’ इस पर गांधारी शांत हो गईं।

शास्त्रों के अनुसार मनुष्य को पांच ऋण चुकाने होते हैं…

1.माता का ऋण

2.पिता का ऋण

3.गुरु का ऋण

4.धरती का ऋण

5.धर्म का ऋण

1.माता का ऋण चुकाने के लिये कन्या दान करना चाहिए

2.पिता का ऋण चुकाने के लिए संतान उत्पति करनी चाहिए

3.गुरु का ऋण चुकाने के लिए लोगों को शिक्षित करना चाहिए

4.धरती का ऋण चुकाने के लिए कृषि करना चाहिए या पेड़ लगाना चाहिए

5.धर्म का ऋण चुकाने के लिए धर्म का प्रचार प्रसार करना चाहिए

सनातन शिक्षा, अध्यात्म व धर्म का प्रचार प्रसार करें विश्व की आधिकांश समस्याएँ स्वतः समाप्त हो जाएगी।

English Translation

In the Mahanarayana Upanishad it is said, Dharma Vishwasya Jagatah Pratishtha, that is, religion is the root of the prestige of the whole world. Lord Shri Krishna also says that even if there is a crisis on the life, still one should not be deterred from following the religion.

During the Mahabharata war, Duryodhana used to reach Mata Gandhari every day and pray for her blessings to wish for victory. Gandhari was a learned woman who understood the essence of religion.

As Duryodhana prayed for blessings, Gandhari would say, Yato Dharmastato Jayah. That is, where there is dharma, there is victory. Gandhari knew that Duryodhana was on the path of unrighteousness, so she did not give blessings for victory.

One by one, all the sons of Gandhari died in the war. Despite being a theologian, she was a mother. His heart grieved with son’s grief. After destroying the Kauravas, Yudhishthira along with the Pandavas reached Gandhari to express condolences.

Maharishi Vyas also came there. As soon as Gandhari saw Yudhishthira and the other Pandavas, she lost her patience remembering her sons and burst into anger.

Maharishi Vyas understood that Gandhari was ready to take out the words of the curse. He said, ‘Princess Gandhari, calm down. You should not get angry on the Pandavas by losing your patience.

When asked for blessings, you used to tell Duryodhana only one thing that where there is dharma, there is victory. Do you not believe even after the victory of the Pandavas that the victory of the Pandavas is the victory of Dharma?’ Gandhari became calm on this.
