जानिए कौन सी गलती कर देता है अहंकारी

एक मूर्तिकार था। वह ऐसी मूर्तियां बनाता था, जो सजीव लगती थीं। लेकिन मूर्तिकार को अपनी इस कला पर अहंकार था। जब उसे लगने लगा कि उसकी मृत्यु आने वाली है तब उसने यमदूतों को भ्रम में डालने के लिए स्वयं की सजीव मूर्तियां बनाईं।

उसने अपने जैसी करीब 10 मूर्तियां बनाईं और उन मूर्तियों के बीच में जाकर बैठ गया। जब यमदूत आए तो उन्हें 11 मूर्तियां दिखाईं दीं। वह एक जैसी 11 मूर्तियां देखकर हैरान थे। वह एक विषम परिस्थिति में फंस गए। वो यह कि यदि मूर्ति तोड़ते हैं तो कलाकार के सम्मान को ठेस पहुंचेगी और यदि मूर्तिकार को यमलोक नहीं ले जाएंगे तो प्रकृति का नियम टूटा जाएगा।

तब एक यमदूत को मानव स्वभाव के एक गुण अहंकार के बारे में ध्यना आया। उसने कहा, इन 11 मूर्तियों में से एक मूर्ति में एक त्रुटि है। जैसे ही यमदूत ने यह वाक्य कहे, मूर्तिकार तुरंत बोल उठा, कौन सी मूर्ति में कैसी गलती?

फिर क्या था यमदूत उस मूर्तिकार को तुरंत यमलोक ले गए। उन्होंने कहा, अहंकारवश यही गलती तो की है तुमने कि तुम बोल उठे।
