सबसे कीमती चीज!!

सीलमपुर गांव में एक भिखारी रहता था। वह बड़ी मुश्किल से अपना गुजारा करता था। उसे ठीक से खाने या पिने नहीं मिलता था, जिस वजह से उसका बूढ़ा शरीर सूखकर कांटा हो गया था। वह अपने आप को बहुत ही कमज़ोर महसूस करने लगा था। एक दिन वह रास्ते के एक ओर बैठकर गिड़गिड़ाते हुए भीख मांगा करता था। एक बालक उस रास्ते से रोज अपने स्कूल के लिए निकलता था। भिखारी को देखकर उसे बड़ा बुरा लगता। उसका मन बहुत ही दुखी होता।

वह छोटा बालक सोचता,  “आखिर यह आदमी क्यों भीख मांगता है? भगवान उसे उठा क्यों नहीं लेते?”

एक दिन उससे न रहा गया। वह भिखारी के पास गया और अपनी टिफिन में से कुछ रोटियां देते हुए बोला, “बाबा, तुम्हारी ऐसी हालत हो गई है फिर भी तुम जीना चाहते हो तुम भीख मांगते हो, पर ईश्वर से यह प्रार्थना क्यों नहीं करते कि वह तुम्हें अपने पास बुला ले?

भिखारी ने हस्ते हुए बोला, “बेटा तुम जो कह रहे हो, वही बात मेरे मन में भी उठती है। मैं भगवान से रोज प्रार्थना करता हूं, पर वह मेरी सुनता ही नहीं। शायद वह चाहता है कि मैं इस धरती पर रहूं, जिससे दुनिया के लोग मुझे देखें और समझें कि एक दिन मैं भी उनकी ही तरह था, लेकिन वह दिन भी आ सकता है, जबकि वे मेरी तरह हो सकते हैं। इसलिए बेटा किसी को घमंड नहीं करना चाहिए।

लड़का भिखारी की ओर देखता रह गया। उसने जो कहा था, उसमें कितनी बड़ी सच्चाई समाई हुई थी। हमारी जिंदगी सबसे कीमती चीज है।

English Translation

A beggar lived in Seelampur village. He used to live with great difficulty. He did not get to eat or drink properly, due to which his old body had dried up and become a thorn. He was starting to feel very weak. One day he used to beg while pleading sitting on the side of the road. A boy used to go to his school everyday by that way. He felt very bad seeing the beggar. His heart would have been very sad.

The little boy would think, “Why does this man beg? God, why don’t you take him away?”

One day he could not live with it. He went to the beggar and gave some rotis from his tiffin and said, “Baba, you have become like this, still you want to live, you beg, but why don’t you pray to God to call you to him?

The beggar smiled and said, “Son, whatever you are saying, the same thing arises in my mind. I pray to God everyday, but he doesn’t listen to me. Perhaps He wants me to live on this earth, so that the people of the world can see me and understand that one day I was like them, but that day may also come when they can be like me. That’s why son, no one should be proud.

The boy kept looking at the beggar. There was so much truth in what he had said. Our life is the most precious thing.
