किसी ने सही कहा है, सम्मान चाहिए तो पहले सम्मान देना सीखें

बहुत पुरानी बात है। एक व्यक्ति अक्सर धर्मग्रंथों का मजाक उड़ाया करता था। वह नास्तिक था। वह ईश्वर में विश्वास करने वालों का सम्मान नहीं करता था। वह उनसे वैचारिक बहस न करके, कुतर्कों के जरिए उनका मनोबल तोड़ने की कोशिश करता था।

एक दिन वह एक पादरी के पास पहुंचा। उसका मकसद पादरी को नीचा दिखाना था। उसने पादरी से पूछा, अगर मैं खजूर खाऊं तो क्या मुझे पाप लगेगा? पादरी ने सहजता से कहा-नहीं। उस व्यक्ति ने फिर पूछा और अगर मैं खजूर के साथ थोड़ा पानी मिला लूं तो क्या मुझे पाप लगेगा?

पादरी ने उसी तरह कहा इससे भी कोई अंतर नहीं पड़ेगा। उस व्यक्ति ने फिर अगला सवाल किया और महोदय, यदि मैं उस खजूर में पानी के साथ थोड़ा खमीर मिला लूं तो क्या यह धार्मिक दृष्टि से गलत होगा?

पादरी ने उसकी मंशा ताड़ ली पर उन्होंने बिना झुंझलाए कहा- बिल्कुल नहीं। उस पर उस व्यक्ति ने दलील दी- फिर धर्मग्रंथों में शराब पीना पाप क्यों बताया गया है, जबकि शराब इन्हीं तीनों से मिलकर बनती है।

पादरी ने इसका जवाब देने की बजाय उससे प्रश्न किय अगर मैं तुम पर मुट्ठी भर धूल फेंकू तो क्या तुम्हें चोट लगेगी। इस पर उस व्यक्ति ने कहा, नहीं।

पादरी ने कहा और अगर मैं धूल में थोड़ा पानी मिलाकर फेंकू तो क्या तुम्हें चोट लगेगी? उस व्यक्ति ने सिर हिलाकर कहा-नहीं।

पादरी ने मुस्कराते हुए फिर पूछा और अगर मैं उस मिट्टी और पानी में कुछ पत्थर मिलाकर तुम्हारे ऊपर फेंकू तो क्या होगा? चोट लगेगी कि नहीं।

यह सवाल सुनकर वह थोड़ा घबराया। उसने कुछ सोचकर कहा आप चोट लगने की बात कर रहे हैं, मेरा तो सिर ही फूट जाएगा। पादरी ने कहा मुझे विश्वास है कि तुम्हें अपने प्रश्न का उत्तर मिल गया होगा। वह व्यक्ति शर्मिंदा हो गया। उसने अपने व्यवहार के लिए पादरी से क्षमा मांगी और आगे से उसने किसी व्यक्ति से ऐसी गलती नहीं करने का वचन दिया।

It’s a very old matter. One person often used to ridicule religious texts. He was atheist. He did not respect those who believed in God. He used to try to break his morale by not having ideological debate, through the kurtakas.

One day he reached near a priest. His aim was to humiliate the priest. He asked the priest, if I eat dates, would I have sin? The pastor said effortlessly-no. The person asked again and if I got some water with dates, would I have sin?

The pastor said in the same way will not make any difference. The person then asked the next question and sir, if I get some yeast with water in that date, will it be wrong with a religious view?

The priest took his intention, but he said without hesitation- not at all. The person argued on that – then why is drinking in the holy scriptures been said to be sin, while alcohol is made up of these three people.

Instead of answering the question to the priest, the priest asked, if I throw a handful of dust on you, will you be hurt? The person said on this, no, no.

The clergy said, and if I throw some water into the dust then you will get hurt? The person shook his head and said-no.

The cleric asked again with a smile and asked, “What if I have to throw some stones in that soil and water?” Whether it will hurt or not.

He was a little nervous after hearing this question. He said, thinking that you are talking about injury, my head will be broken. The priest said I believe that you have found the answer to your question. That person was embarrassed He apologized to the pastor for his behavior and, in the future, he pledged to not make such a mistake to any person.
