एक समय की बात है…

एक सन्त प्रात: काल भ्रमण हेतु समुद्र के तट पर पहुँचे…

समुद्र के तट पर उन्होने एक पुरुष को देखा जो एक स्त्री की गोद में सर रख कर सोया हुआ था.

पास में शराब की खाली बोतल पड़ी हुई थी.
सन्त बहुत दु:खी हुए.

उन्होने विचार किया कि ये मनुष्य कितना तामसिक और विलासी है, जो प्रात:काल शराब सेवन करके स्त्री की गोद में सर रख कर प्रेमालाप कर रहा है.

थोड़ी देर बाद समुद्र से बचाओ, बचाओ की आवाज आई,

सन्त ने देखा एक मनुष्य समुद्र में डूब रहा है,
मगर स्वयं तैरना नहीं आने के कारण सन्त देखते रहने के अलावा कुछ नहीं कर सकते थे.

स्त्री की गोद में सिर रख कर सोया हुआ व्यक्ति उठा और डूबने वाले को बचाने हेतु पानी में कूद गया.

थोड़ी देर में उसने डूबने वाले को बचा लिया और किनारे ले आया.

सन्त विचार में पड़ गए की इस व्यक्ति को बुरा कहें या भला.

वो उसके पास गए और बोले भाई तुम कौन हो, और यहाँ क्या कर रहे हो…?
उस व्यक्ति ने उत्तर दिया : —

मैं एक मछुआरा हूँ
मछली मारने का काम करता हूँ.आज कई दिनों बाद समुद्र से मछली पकड़ कर प्रात: जल्दी यहाँ लौटा हूँ.

मेरी माँ मुझे लेने के लिए आई थी और साथ में(घर में कोई दूसरा बर्तन नहीं होने पर)इस मदिरा की बोतल में पानी ले आई.

कई दिनों की यात्रा से मैं थका हुआ था
और भोर के सुहावने वातावरण में ये पानी पी कर थकान कम करने माँ की गोद में सिर रख कर ऐसे ही सो गया.

सन्त की आँखों में आँसू आ गए कि मैं कैसा पातक मनुष्य हूँ, जो देखा उसके बारे में
मैंने गलत विचार किया जबकि वास्तविकता अलग थी.

कोई भी बात जो हम देखते हैं, हमेशा जैसी दिखती है वैसी नहीं होती है उसका एक दूसरा पहलू भी हो सकता है.
