जब सिकंदर को खुद का अभियान लगा मूर्खतापूर्ण

 

विश्वविजय पर निकला सिकंदर यूनान से भारत तक आ पहुंचा था। वह एक जंगल से आगे बढ़ रहा था। तभी एक साधु शिला पर लेटे हुए मिले। सिकंदर को देखकर भी वह ज्यों के त्यों लेटे रहे। सिकंदर ने गुस्से में कहा, ‘आपको मालूम है कि आपके सामने विश्वविजेता खड़ा है?’

साधु ने तब निश्चिंत होकर कहा, तुम खून खराबा क्यों करते हो?

सिकंदर ने कहा, इससे में पूरी दुनिया को जीत लूंगा और उस पर राज करूंगा।

साधु ने फिर कहा, फिर?

सिकंदर बोला, मेरे पास महल, गहने, संपत्ति, नौकर-चाकर और विराट सत्ता होगी?

साधु बोले, फिर?

सिकंदर बोले, तुम इतना सब करने के बाद आराम से रहोगे। मैं तो वैसे ही आराम से रह रहा हूं, साधु ने लेट-लेटे ही उत्तर दिया। और दूसरी करवट लेकर सो गया।

तब सिकंदर को पहली बार यह अहसास हुआ कि वह एक मूर्खतापूर्ण अभियान पर निकला है।

Alexander the Great came to India from Greece. He was moving forward from a forest. Then only a sadhu would get lying on the rock. Seeing Alexander, he kept laying down Sikander said in anger, ‘do you know that the world champion is standing in front of you?’

The sage then rested and said, why do you break the blood?

Sikander said, In this, I will conquer the whole world and will rule over it.

The sage said again, then?

Sikandar said, will I have palaces, ornaments, property, servants and great power?

Sage said, then?

Sikander said, you will be comfortable after doing all this. I am living in the same comfort, the sadhu has given me a lie. And the second one fell asleep.

Then Alexander realized for the first time that he came out on a silly campaign.
