जब हेरो थोरा ने 1 भारतीय किसान से मांगी माफी

हेरो थोरो अमेरिका का एक मशहूर चिंतक और विचारक थे। थोरो भारतीय विचारधारा से प्रेरित थे। उन्हें अपने साहित्य में कालिदास, विष्णु पुराण, हरिवंश पुराण आदि के उदाहरणों को शामिल किया था। भारतीय विचारधारा से प्रभावित होकर, वो भारत में ही एक गांव में पहुंचे।

आश्रम बनाने के लिए उन्होंने एक किसान से जमीन ली थी। लेकिन अगले ही दिन वह किसान वापिस आया और बोला, ‘महोदय आप मेरी जमीन लौटा दें। मैनें अपनी जमीन बहुत सस्ती कीमत में दे दी है। मैं मूर्ख हूं।’

तब थोरो ने कहा, ‘अनजाने में बाजार कीमत से सस्ती जमीन बेच देना सचमुच में मूर्खता है। मैंने यह अपराध किया है। मुझे माफ करें।’ इसलिए में तुम्हारे पैसे और तुम्हारी जमीन लौटा देता हूं। इसके बाद थोरो पास के ही जंगल में आश्रम बनाकर लगभग 2 वर्षों तक रहे और अध्ययन किया।

संक्षेप में

किसी का गलत फायदा नहीं उठाना चाहिए। यह प्रेरक कथा यही सीख देती है। थोरो चाहते तो उस किसान को जमीन नहीं लौटाते, लेकिन वो भारतीय विचारधारा से इतने प्रभावित थे कि उन्होंने सत्य का साथ दिया।
