उम्मीद और हौसले की मिसाल थीं विल्मा रुडोल्फ

 रुडोल्फ की जीवनी काफी प्रेरक है। उनके लिए जो दिव्यांग हैं और उनके लिए जो दिव्यांग नहीं हैं। उन्हें ढाई साल की उम्र में पोलियो हुआ। पोलियो की वजह से वह 11 साल की उम्र तक ठीक से चल भी नहीं सकती थीं। लेकिन रुडोल्फ के हौसले इतने बुलंद थे कि उन्होंने 21 साल की उम्र में 1960 के ओलंपिक में दौड़ में 3 गोल्ड मेडल जीते।

उनका जन्म बेहद गरीब अश्वेत परिवार में हुआ था। उस समय अमेरिका में अश्वेत और श्वेत लोगों के बीत काफी मतभेद थे। लेकिन जब वे गोल्ड जीत कर वापिस अपने गृहनगर आईं तब उनके सम्मान में एक भोज का आयोजन किया गया। इस भोज में पहली बार उनके सम्मान में श्वेत और अश्वेत लोग शामिल हुए।

 इस समारोह को विल्मा अपनी सबसे बड़ी जीत मानती थीं। विल्मा रुडोल्फ की मृत्यु 12 नवंबर 1994, को ब्रेंटवुड, टेनेसी, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में हुई थी।

Wilma Rudolph was a Divya woman, who won the gold medal at the Olympics on her own initiative. He was born on June 23, 1940, in St Bethlehem, Tennessee. It comes under the United States.

Rudolph’s biography is quite inspiring. For those who are Divyaang and for them there is no Divyaang. He was polio at two and a half years old. Due to polio he could not walk properly till the age of 11. But Rudolph was so enthusiastic that he won 3 gold medals in the race for the 1960 Olympics at the age of 21.

He was born in a very poor black family. The black and white people in the US had a great deal of differences in that time. But when he returned to his hometown after winning the gold, a banquet was organized in his honor. For the first time in this feast, white and black people were involved in their honor.

This event was considered by Wilma as her greatest victory. Wilma Rudolf died on November 12, 1994 in Brentwood, Tennessee, United States.
