जैसी भावना वैसी मनोकामना

एक बार भगवान बुद्ध एक शहर में प्रवचन दे रहे थे। उन्होंने प्रवचन के बाद आखिर में कहा, ‘जागो! समय हाथ से निकला जा रहा है।’ इस तरह उस दिन की प्रवचन सभा समाप्त हो गई।

सभा के बाद तथागत ने अपने शिष्य आनंद से कहा, थोड़ी दूर घूम कर आते हैं। आनंद, भगवान बुद्ध के साथ चल दिए। अभी वे विहार के मुख्य द्वार तक ही पहुंचे ही थे कि एक किनारे रुक कर खड़े हो गये।

प्रवचन सुनने आये लोग एबाहर निकल रहे थे, इसलिए भीड़ का माहौल था, लेकिन उसमें से निकल कर एक स्त्री तथागत से मिलने आई। उसने कहा, ‘तथागत मैं नर्तकी हूं’। आज नगर के श्रेष्ठी के घर मेरे नृत्य का कार्यक्रम पहले से तय था, लेकिन मैं उसके बारे में भूल चुकी थी। आपने कहा, ‘ जागो समय निकला जा रहा है तो मुझे तुरंत इस बात की याद आई।’

उसके बाद एक डाकू भगवान बुद्ध से मिला उसने कहा, ‘तथागत मैं आपसे कोई बात छिपाऊंगा मै भूल गया था कि आज मुझे एक जगह डाका डालने जाना था कि आज उपदेश सुनते ही मुझे अपनी योजना याद आ गई।’

इस तरह एक बूढ़ा व्यक्ति बुद्ध के पास आया वृद्ध ने कहा, ‘तथागत! जिन्दगी भर दुनिया भर की चीजों के पीछे भागता रहा। अब मौत का सामना करने का दिन नजदीक आता जा रहा है, तब मुझे लगता है कि सारी जिन्दगी यूं ही बेकार हो गई।

आपकी बातों से आज मेरी आंखें खुल गईं। आज से मैं अपने सारे मोह छोड़कर निर्वाण के लिए कोशिश करूंगा। जब सब लोग चले गए तो भगवान बुद्ध ने कहा, ‘आनंद! प्रवचन मैंने एक ही दिया, लेकिन उसका हर किसी ने अलग अलग मतलब निकाला।’

संक्षेप में

कहने का तात्पर्य यह है कि जिसकी जितनी झोली होती है, उतना ही दान वह समेट पाता है। निर्वाण प्राप्ति के लिए भी मन की झोली को उसके लायक होना होता है। इसके लिए मन का शुद्ध होना बहुत जरूरी है। इस प्रेरक प्रसंग में भी ऐसा ही है।

The people who came to listen to the discourse were going out of the house, hence there was an atmosphere of crowd, but out of it, a woman came to meet Tathagat. She said, ‘Tathagat I am a dancer’ Today, the dance program of the city’s Shastri was fixed in advance, but I had forgotten about it. You said, ‘Wake up, I am reminded of this thing immediately.’

After that, a robber met Lord Buddha, he said, ‘Tathagat I will hide something from you. I had forgotten that today I had to go to a place where I remembered my plan as soon as I heard the message.’

In this way an old man came to Buddha and said, ‘Tathagat! Running behind things around the world around the world. Now the day of death is coming closer, then I think that all life has become useless.

My eyes opened to you today. From today I will try all my faults and try Nirvana. When all the people departed, Lord Buddha said, ‘Joy! I gave one discourse, but everyone of them gave different meanings. ‘
