बात उन दिनों की है जब साबरमती के आश्रम में गांधीजी रहते थे। वह हर काम समय से करते थे। आश्रम में रहने वाले व्यक्ति को समय की महत्ता का विशेष पाठ गांधीजी दिया करते थे। वहां दोपहर और रात के भोजन के लिए दो घंटी बजाईं जाती थीं। 

उसी दौरान आकर भोजन करना अनिवार्य था। जो लोग दूसरी घंटी बजने पर भी नहीं पहुंच पाते थे, उन्हें भोजन के लिए फिर इंतजार करना होता था। एक दिन की बात है दो घंटी बजने के बाद भी

गांधीजी समय पर भोजन के लिए उपस्थित नहीं हो सके। दरअसल वो अपने लेखन कार्य में इतना तल्लीन थे कि उन्हें घंटी की आवाज का पता ही नहीं चला।

थोड़ी देर बाद जब वो आए तो आश्रम में पहली पंक्ति का भोजन शुरू हो चुका था। तब उन्हें दूसरी पंक्ति में बैठने के लिए लंबी प्रतीक्षा करनी पड़ी। गांधीजी इस बात से परेशान नहीं हुए बल्कि सहजता से पंक्ति में खड़े हो गए।

तभी पंक्ति में खड़ा एक व्यक्ति बोला, बापू आप तो स्वयं इस आश्रम के मुखिया हैं और आप ही पंक्ति में लग रहे हैं। तब गांधी जी बोले, बंधु नियम सभी के लिए होते हैं फिर चाहे वो नौकर हो या मालिक।

Things are those days when Gandhiji used to live in Sabarmati’s ashram He used to do everything from time to time. Gandhiji used to give a special text of the importance of time to the person living in the ashram. There used to be two bells for lunch and dinner.

It was mandatory to come and eat during that time. Those who did not even reach the second bell, they had to wait for food again. It’s a one-day thing even after two bell sounds

Gandhiji could not be present for food on time. Actually he was so engrossed in his writing work that he did not know the voice of the bell.

After a while, when he came, the first line meal was started in the ashram. Then they had to wait long to sit in the second line. Gandhiji did not bother with this, but easily stood in line.

Then one person said in the line, Bapu is himself the head of this Ashram and you are looking in line. Then Gandhiji said, brotherly rules are for everyone, whether he is a servant or a master.
