स्वर्ग की यात्रा

एक बार बादशाह अकबर के बाल नाई काट रहा था। नाई बोला हुजूर आपने यहाँ राज्य में तो सबके लिए अच्छा प्रबंध किया है लेकिन आपके स्वर्ग में जो पूर्वज है उनके हालचाल के बारे में पता है वह वहाँ ठीक तो है ना।

उनको किसी चीज़ की कमी तो नहीं है। अकबर ने बोला कैसी पागलों जैसी बात कर रहे हो स्वर्ग के बारे में हमें कैसे पता की पूर्वज कैसे है। इस पर नाई बोला कुछ दुरी पर एक तांत्रिक रहता है वह लोगों को जिन्दा ही स्वर्ग की यात्रा कराता है।

उसने बहुत से लोगों को अपने पूर्वज से मिलाया है और स्वर्ग की यात्रा कराई है। अकबर ने बोला उस तांत्रिक को कल दरबार में हाजिर करो। अगले दिन नाई तांत्रिक को ले आया। अकबर के पूछने पर तांत्रिक बोला हजूर मैंने बहुत लोगों को स्वर्ग की यात्रा कराई है।

जिससे लोग अपने पूर्बज से मिल सकते है और उनका हाल चाल जान सकते है की वह किस हाल में है। अकबर ने कहा हमें भी अपने पूर्वज के हाल के बारे में जानना है उनको किसी चीज़ की जरुरत तो नहीं है। उनने कहा बीरबल मेरे सबसे अच्छे मित्र है मै उनको अपने पूर्बज के हाल जानने के लिए भेजना चाहूंगा

तांत्रिक बोला बहुत कम लोग स्वर्ग की सुख सुविधाओं को छोड़कर वापिस आ पाते है। अकबर ने कहा मुझे पूरा यकीन है बीरबल जरूर लौट आएंगे। बीरबल ने तांत्रिक से पूछा आप लोगों को स्वर्ग कैसे भेजते है। तांत्रिक बोला हम यमुना के किनारे लकड़ियों के बीच में व्यक्ति को खड़ा करके लकड़ियों में आग लगाते है और मै मंत्रो के द्वारा उनको स्वर्ग भेज देता हूँ।

बीरबल ने पूछा कितना समय में व्यक्ति लौट कर आते है। तांत्रिक ने कहा 2 महीने में कुछ व्यक्ति लौट आते है। बाकि वही रह जाते है। बीरबल ने अकबर से कहा महाराज क्योंकि मुझे 2 महीने के लिए स्वर्ग की यात्रा पर जाना है तो मुझे अपने जो भी काम है वो निपटाने है इसलिए मुझे पांच दिन की मोहलत चाहिए।

अकबर ने इसकी मंजूरी दे दी। पांच दिन के बाद कहे अनुसार तांत्रिक ने लकड़ियों के बीच में बीरबल को खड़ा करके आग लगा दी और मंत्र पढ़े। इसके बाद तांत्रिक ने बोला बीरबल स्वर्ग की यात्रा के लिए चले गए और सब घर लौट आये।

2 महीने के बाद एक दिन बीरबल दरबार में हाजिर हुए उनके बाल और दाढ़ी बढ़ी हुई थी। सब बीरबल को देखकर बहुत हैरान हो गए। अकबर बीरबल को देखकर बहुत खुश हुए और पूछा तुम्हारे बाल और दाढ़ी इतनी क्यों बढ़ी हुई है और मेरे पूर्बज स्वर्ग में कैसे है।

बीरबल ने कहा आपके सभी पूर्वज स्वर्ग में खुश है लेकिन स्वर्ग में कोई भी नाई नहीं है जिसके उनके भी बाल और दाढ़ी मेरी तरह बढे हुए है। इसलिए आपके पूर्वज ने एक नाई को स्वर्ग भेजने के लिए कहा है। अकबर ने उसी नाई को बोला तुम कल स्वर्ग जाओगे।

नाई अकबर की बात सुनकर डर गया और कहा मुझे अभी मरना नहीं है और सारी सच्चाई बता दी की यह सब उसने और तांत्रिक ने दरबार के एक मंत्री के कहने पर किया है जो बीरबल को पसंद नहीं करता था और उनको रास्ते से हटाना चाहता था।

अकबर ने नाई , तांत्रिक को कारावास में डलवा दिया और मंत्री को देश निकाला दे दिया। अकबर ने बीरबल से पूछा लेकिन वह बचे कैसे बीरबल ने बताया की उनने स्वर्ग की यात्रा से पहले जो पांच दिन लिए थे उसमे जिस जगह से उनको स्वर्ग भेजा जाता वहाँ से अपने घर तक की सुरंग खुदवाई। अकबर ने बीरबल को बहुत प्रशंशा की।

English Translation

Once the barber was cutting the hair of Emperor Akbar. The barber said, sir, you have made good arrangements for everyone here in the kingdom, but you know about the well being of the ancestors who are in heaven, they are fine there, isn’t it?

They do not lack anything. Akbar said how crazy you are talking about heaven, how do we know how the ancestor is. The barber said on this that a tantrik lives at some distance, he makes people travel to heaven alive.

He has reunited many people with his ancestors and made them go to heaven. Akbar said, present that tantrik in the court tomorrow. The next day the barber brought the tantrik. On Akbar’s request, the tantrik said, Hazur, I have made many people travel to heaven.

With which people can meet their ancestors and know their condition, in what condition they are. Akbar said that we also have to know about the condition of our ancestors, they do not need anything. He said that Birbal is my best friend, I would like to send him to know the condition of my ancestors.

Tantric said that very few people leave the comforts of heaven and come back. Akbar said, I am sure Birbal will definitely return. Birbal asked the tantrik how do you send people to heaven. The tantrik said, we stand a person in the middle of the woods on the banks of Yamuna and set fire to the wood and I send them to heaven through mantras.

Birbal asked in how much time people come back. The tantrik said that some people return in 2 months. The rest remain the same. Birbal said to Akbar, sir, because I have to go on a journey to heaven for 2 months, then I have to settle whatever work I have, so I need five days’ time.

Akbar approved it. After five days, the tantrik raised Birbal in the middle of the wood and set it on fire and recited the mantra. After this the tantrik said that Birbal went for a journey to heaven and everyone returned home.

After two months, one day Birbal appeared in the court, his hair and beard had grown. Everyone was very surprised to see Birbal. Akbar was very happy seeing Birbal and asked why your hair and beard have grown so much and how is my ancestor in heaven.

Birbal said that all your ancestors are happy in heaven but there is no barber in heaven whose hair and beard have grown like mine. That’s why your ancestor has asked to send a barber to heaven. Akbar said to the same barber, you will go to heaven tomorrow.

The barber got scared after listening to Akbar and said that I do not want to die yet and told the whole truth that he and the tantrik had done all this at the behest of a minister of the court who did not like Birbal and wanted to get him out of the way.

Akbar imprisoned the barber, tantrik and expelled the minister from the country. Akbar asked Birbal but how did he survive Birbal told that in the five days he had taken before the journey to heaven, he dug a tunnel from the place from where he would have been sent to heaven. Akbar admired Birbal a lot.
