भगवान भी बिकते हैं बस, खरीदने वाला चाहिए

राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी एक बार ओडिशा दौरे पर थे। इस दौरान प्रार्थना सभा में कुछ लोग कुछ-न-कुछ भेंट जरूर करते थे। जिन्हें बापू सभा समाप्ति के बाद नीलाम कर देते थे।

कटक महासभा के दौरान एक कुम्हार ने बापू को श्रीकृष्ण की दो मूर्तियां भेंट कीं। सभा के अंत में जब बापू उन्हें नीलाम करने के लिए खड़े हुए तो सभा में उपस्थित सेठ भागीरथ कनोड़िया हंसकर बोले, बापू आपने तो भगवान को भी नहीं बख्शा। उनकी भी नीलामी कर रहे हैं?

तब महात्मा गांधी ने कहा, अरे भाई ये तो पहले से ही बिकते आ रहे हैं। बस इन्हें कोई बेचने वाला और खरीदने वाला चाहिए। क्या तुमने मीरा का यह पद नहीं सुना, माईं री मैंने गोविंद लीनो मोल। कोई कहे महंगो, कोई कहे सस्तो, मैंने लियो तराजू तोल। यह बात सुनकर सभी आश्चर्य चकित हो गए और वो मूर्तियां काफी महंगी बिकीं।
